Andy Anderson
Andy came to Christ in 1975 while attending Eastside as an Air Force Academy cadet. After traveling the world with his wife, Letha, the Andersons returned to Eastside for a time in the 80’s and then again in 2004. He became an elder in 2006. He is retired from the Air Force and works as a Vice President with a software company. He is involved with Eastside’s newcomers and orientation ministries. Andy and Letha have two adult daughters who are married and live in Ohio and Washington.
Richard Cox
Richard and his wife, Jeanette, became part of the Eastside family in 2002 and became an elder in 2003. He is deeply involved in the men’s ministry, Life Groups, service projects, and guest welcoming ministries and sings on the Eastside praise team. He retired from the Air Force in 2002, but continues to work at Peterson Air Force Base as a civil servant. Richard and Jeanette have two adult daughters and one granddaughter.
David Gibson
David and Karen met at Harding University and lived in Houston, Texas for 35 years before moving to The Springs and coming to Eastside in 2009. Both had been involved in a wide variety of ministries and teaching roles at the Southeast Church of Christ where David served as an Elder. David has a passion for healthy and effective churches. His background is in financial and technology management, and he currently consults and mentors in business, technology and media. He is also a veteran independent real estate broker practicing in Texas and Colorado. The Gibsons have two adult children and three grandsons.
Trey McFarlin
Trey grew up in Arlington, TX, and met and married his wife, Julie, while they were students at Abilene Christian University. The McFarlins came to Eastside in 1987. Over the years, Trey has been active as a deacon, has served on several minister selection committees, and is a highly dependable volunteer with Sonshine City, our Sunday morning children’s program. He became an elder in 2007, and he is employed as a project manager at Concepts in Millwork, Inc.
Ted Mogey
Ted is an avid backpacker, hiker, and gem cutter who loves the mountains almost as much as he loves studying the Bible with others. He and Jackie, his wife, came to Christ in their early thirties, and they have been involved in many ministries at Eastside over the years, including missions, LifeGroups, cadets, and young professionals. Ted is a payload specialist for GPS systems at Boeing. The Mogeys have three adult sons and one adult daughter, and they love spending time with their three grandchildren.
Bob Pottberg
Bob and Jamie Pottberg have attended Eastside since 2001. Bob is a retired Navy Pilot who loves fly fishing, and he currently works for Booz Allen Hamilton. He leads a Life Group, has taught middle school and adult classes, and co-leads Eastside’s Men’s Ministry. Jamie is a homemaker and is active in Eastside’s Women’s Ministry. The Pottbergs have a welcoming spirit and love ministering to new families at Eastside. They have seven children who are active in churches across the country. Bob became an elder at Eastside in 2010.
Ken Preslar
Ken and his wife, Joan, have been at Eastside since 1985. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at FedEx for thirteen years and currently serves as the Director at Pikes Peak Christian School. At Eastside, he works primarily with Sonshine City and our involvement ministries. The Preslars have two adult daughters and five grandchildren.
Jeff Tyler
Jeff has been an elder at Eastside since 1995. He and Katy, his wife, came to Eastside in 1989. Jeff works as a college professor at Kaplan University’s Graduate School of Management. Jeff and Katy have two adult sons, and they enjoy family time with their seven grandchildren.
Joel Worley
Joel and Verna Worley came to Eastside in August 2007. Joel became an elder at Eastside in October 2008, becoming the third congregation at which he has served in this capacity. A retired college dean who holds a Ph.D. in business administration, Joel now teaches part-time at the Colorado Springs campus of the University of Colorado. He and Verna have three adult children and eight adult grandchildren. They love to have people in their home and are passionate about studying the Bible with others.
