Worship Ministry

Sunday mornings at Eastside are so important!  It’s a time when worshippers come together to put things back in perspective – to remember who we are in contrast with God.  The 95th Psalm says,

Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.

All of us – though we may differ in preference, tastes, income, backgrounds, race, political affiliation, gender, you name it – gather each week as a community to humble ourselves before the Lord our Maker.  We remember that He is the great God, and that we are the flock under His care.  We sing, pray, listen to teaching from the Scriptures, observe the Lord’s Supper, and care for one other.  We cry together, laugh a LOT, and share in each other’s lives.  In doing so, we aim to bring glory to our Heavenly Father.  And as we leave our weekly assembly, we hope to honor Him by the lives that we live during the week.

Eastside Church Praise Team Information

The Praise Team serves to facilitate worship in our assemblies.  We take this ministry seriously because God takes His worship seriously.  Our mission is as follows:

The Praise Team seeks to glorify Christ by humbly modeling heartfelt praise, leading others to more complete and passionate lives of worship.

The following briefly discusses four key elements to serving in this ministry.

Talent

Because our goal is to serve God with excellence, there is a need to have an inherent level of musical ability.  This talent can be honed and improved, but nonetheless, there is a requirement for a certain level of ability.

Commitment

We need people who want to serve God with their whole hearts in this particular area of ministry.  We need people whose involvement in other ministries does not conflict with their ability to attend rehearsals and to lead worship on a regular basis.

Character

Because our enemy will use anything and everything to further his cause, we need to maintain a Christ-like character in our responsibilities, relationships, etc. that are above reproach, not perfect, but always striving to become more like Jesus.
